This book tells about how rock and roll rock n' roll challenged and changed American culture, and laid down the foundation for the social rise of the sixties. And how it gave teenagers a sense of differentiation from others, and also helped people express themselves and there culture, verbally and emotionally instead of physically. For instance, the birth of rock coincided with the Civil Rights movement and brought "race music" into many white homes for the first time.

This author of this site is the Indiana School Of Music. Dr. Glenn Gass talks about the roots of rock, up to the "British Invasion", which was basically after the United Kingdom got introduced to rock and roll and began to make there own cover versions of songs, and new British artists started to form like The Beatles. this is a very helpful site, and it gives alot of information about Rock And Roll and is roots and its influences.

A got a lot of information from this site. It tells about how the hard times a the African Americans have been put through during the 1900's, inspired that form of music. And a lot of artists began to address racial and political issues. This is a very good secondary source because it and backs up all its information with facts.

Blues music made a huge impact on not only on the African American culture, but all over the world. Although the blues came from hard, negative times, it made a huge positive impact in the music culture. It inspired many different genres of music, like rock and roll, punk, hip-hop, and jazz.
